The Lumière brothers may have hailed from Besançon, but it was in Lyon that they made their greatest strides in the development of cinematography.
This mural in Lyon – Auguste on the left and Louis on the right – is incredibly realistic: even the shadow of the balcony at which they appear to stand takes you in.
